Oh Monday, how you’ve come to mock my outsized ambition yet again. This time, over my grandiose plans to make and test all these drinks with my jalapeño-infused tequila.
But then I was hit with the reality that I am the only adult in my household that would consume anything made with jalepeno-infused tequila and quickly realized that I would be incoherent and useless to my children as the only taste-tester.
So perfecting one drink was all I could manage over three evenings. And that drink was my Jalapeño-Mangorita.
The basis for the recipe came from my copy of Mr. Boston: Official Bartender’s and Party Guide. I used the ratios for alcohol and lime juice in the Mr. Boston’s margarita recipe and swapped the mango juice for the lime juice. At first sip, there was still a little more bitterness from the jalepeno-infused tequila than I would have liked, so I upped the mango juice ratio.
